The Elder Statesman

History is ingrained in The Elder Statesman brand ethos. Founded by LA based Greg Chait in 2007 as a small cashmere blanket company, he was fascinated by the fact that blankets are rarely washed and carry with them a sense of being love-worn. Chunky sweater knits, fine-gauge t-shirts and light-as-air scarves soon followed, the sense of the personal is strongly imbued, from the fibres sourced in Mongolia & woven in say a Navajo Indian reserve to the horn-rimmed glasses in Buffalo horn recently debuted and sported by Chait himself.
